BIRCK BOILERMAKER GOLF COMPLEX COVID-19 UPDATE

APRIL 28, 2020 UPDATE

In these unique times, the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex will do everything in our power to remain open for play on the Ackerman-Allen and Kampen Course.

As of April 28th, the Ackerman-Allen and Kampen Courses will have carts available. We will limit cart use to one cart per person. The only exception will be for imediate family members who live under the same roof. All carts will be sanitized before being put away at night in the cart barn. If you wish to use a cart, a member of the BBGC Staff will be stationed at the cart barn to help you get a cart. The Staff member stationed by the carts will also offer you the opportunity to again sanitize your cart before use.

The Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex will be partaking in efforts to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, practice social distancing, and provide a recreational outlet for all.

The Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex will be taking the following precautions and steps:
  • All payments for greens fees will be made online. To make your tee time and payment online, please follow these steps:
    • Visit our website, www.purduegolf.com.
    • Under the "Play" tab, click on "Book Tee Times". You will also see a gold bar that says "Book a Tee Time". That bar will appear on any screen on the website. Feel free to use that as a way to book you tee time as well.
  • This will open up a calendar on Chronogolf, this is our tee sheet provider. Choose the date that you would like to play, 18 or 9 holes, and how many golfers you have playing. If you have an account with Chronogolf, you may log in with that. If not, you will be asked to create a new customer profile. From here, you will also be able to add a cart if you so desire.
  • Once you have selected your tee time, it will ask for you to enter a credit card for payment. If the payment amount that pops up looks incorrect to you, please call us in the Pro Shop at 765-496-9313 and we can work through any issues you may have.
In addition to the online payment of greens fees, the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex is taking further precautions to help keep everybody safe:
  • On the course, all cups will be in the ground, but will have a device the only lets the ball fall inches below the ground. You can pick the ball up with your fingers without touching the flagstick. The flagsticks should be touched for no reason.
  • The front doors to the Pete Dye Clubhouse, Pro Shop, and restooms on the Ackerman-Allen Course and Kampen Course will be locked. A member of the Professional Staff will be here during hours of operation if you need assistance. The Pro Shop number is 765-496-9313. If you need items such as a glove, balls, tees, etc., you may call the Pro Shop at 765-496-9313 and purchase said item over the phone. A member of the Professional Staff will then deliver the item to the small table set outside the front doors of the Pete Dye Clubhouse.
  • The driving range will still be available for use with a few modifications:
    • The main driving range at the south end of the facility is now open. The outside door to the building will be unlocked and the double doors to the range shop will be locked. Restrooms inside this building will not be available for use.
    • A BBGC Staff member will be down there to take your payment via a credit card. You can slide your credit card though the double doors. The BBGC Staff member will then take your card and process payment.
    • Once payment has been processed, the BBGC Staff member will give you your credit card back. Please exit the building and the BBGC Staff member will put the balls in the hallway for you. Once the staff member is back in the range shop, you may pick up your range balls.
    • We will only allow 14 people hitting balls on the range tee at one time and all balls will be hit off the mats. On the concrete behind the mats, strips of black tape have been laid down to mark spaces to hit from. Please find an open space in front of one of these pieces of tape to hit your range balls. This is done to help with social distancing and keeping a safe distance from others using the range.

This is a fluid and ever changing situation. We will update the situation as necessary.

If you have any questions at all during these times, please do not hesitate to call us at 765-496-9313.
